The Asylum Albums, Part I (1972-1975) 5LP
Pięćdziesiąt lat temu Joni Mitchell znalazła się w punkcie zwrotnym. Po nagraniu czterech uznanych albumów w Reprise Records, w tym arcydzieła Blue z 1971 roku, opuściła wytwórnię i przeniosła się do zupełnie nowej wytwórni Asylum Records w 1972 roku. W ciągu kolejnych siedmiu lat Mitchell nagrała jedne z najbardziej uznanych albumów w swojej karierze, jednocześnie zmieniając kierunek muzyczny poprzez włączenie do swoich tekstów więcej elementów jazzowych. Kulminacją tej ewolucji był wydany w 1979 roku Mingus, jej współpraca z tytanem jazzu Charlesem Mingusem i ostatni studyjny album dla Asylum.
Wydawnictwo pozwala odkryć początek tej płodnej ery dzięki "The Asylum Albums" (1972-1975), kolejnej odsłonie serii Joni Mitchell Archives. Kolekcja zawiera nowo zremasterowane wersje "For The Roses" (1972), "Court And Spark" (1974), podwójnego albumu koncertowego "Miles Of Aisles" (1974) oraz "The Hissing Of Summer Lawns" (1975). Wszystkie cztery zostały niedawno zremasterowane przez Berniego Grundmana.
Na okładce "The Asylum Albums" (1972 - 1975) znalazł się niepublikowany wcześniej obraz Mitchell. W zestawie znajduje się również esej kanadyjskiego przyjaciela i kolegi po fachu Neila Younga.
