Wydawnictwo ukaże się 13 czerwca. Wyprodukowany przez Boba Rocka krążek jest następcą słynnego „Czarnego albumu”, czyli krążka zatytułowanego po prostu „Metallica” – najlepiej sprzedającego się wydawnictwa w karierze grupy. Na płycie znajdą się uwielbiane przez fanów „Until It Sleeps”, „Hero of the Day” czy „King Nothing”, a także oryginalna, wydłużona wersja „The Outlaw Torn”. Dotychczasowe wydania winylowe zawierały skróconą wersję tego utworu, co było podyktowane ograniczeniami produkcyjnymi.

Materiał został zremasterowany przez Reubena Cohena w Lurssen Mastering pod nadzorem producenta wykonawczego Grega Fidelmana, a matryce winylowe przygotował Chris Bellman w Bernie Grundman Mastering.

Edycja 3CD zawiera 41 utworów. Na płytach znajdują się zremasterowana wersja oryginalnego albumu, a także niepublikowane wcześniej demówki, alternatywne miksy i nagrania koncertowe. Całość ukazuje się w digipaku z tłoczoną okładką i 36-stronicową książeczką.
